Jason Stone, Street Cred Capital’s Head of Product Development, has been a mover and shaker in the wireless and technology industry for more than 20 years. In 2012, he launched the first nationwide device financing program for wireless carriers in the United States. This innovative program and its processes are now common practice in the wireless space.
Stone’s true passion is building and delivering consumer-focused technology solutions. “I believe mobile devices have the number one impact on the world and our society,” he says. “They are ingrained in our culture and everyday lives. I like thinking that this is my way to have a little bit of impact.”
Stone’s specialization in product development, product strategy, business development, and financing gives him extensive experience in mobile product design and formulation, including device finance services and products. He also developed and implemented Cricket’s first trade-up program, designed to drive multiple and targeted acquisition promotions. The program was also used to migrate 5 million customers from Cricket’s old CDMA network to AT&T GSM network in the span of 12 months.
“In the future, most services will become more and more touch-less. Technology, especially mobile phones, will continue to be the gateway to most activities people do in their everyday lives,” Stone says.
Stone’s personal vision is to always deliver value, whether that is with a product, services, or partnerships.
“Always make sure you are trustworthy and that people can count on you,” he says. “My colleagues are what get me up and excited every day. The brand on the outside of the building is secondary to the people and community I keep.”
Besides his dedication to product development at Street Cred Capital, Stone is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast. He’s also a music nut who likes to explore new sounds and genres.
